Learn How to Make More Money, with What You Already Have!
How I went from overworked “yes girl” to helping Hundreds of students Learn to be More Creative
Before the best-selling Stained Glass classes, teaching 15 people at once. Before travelling for fun while pursuing art. Before making huge Stained Glass pieces that sell for top dollar… there was a corporate “YES” girl.
Constantly seeking approval. Eager to please. Eager to Advance and climb the corporate ladder.
Wardrobes, Home Decor &
a Thousand Little Missteps…
The road to Entrepreneurship was a bit bumpy, and included a few detours.
My stylish retail management days had me flexing my sales and marketing muscles for the Reitmans, and saw me launching major re-branding campaigns for the oh-so-eclectic Pier 1 Imports...
The shift from manager to “being my own boss” was anything but "stylish."
When I finally did “take the leap”, I was overwhelmed with the massive to-do list, the expense of "trial and error", and wanting so badly to clone myself so I could have some time to actually make art.
I did finally navigate past the rookie mistakes, started to get traction in my business…
… only to figure out:
the wrong freakin’ business”
The first few years were a bit rough.
It wasn't roses and butterflies when I left my salary, stocks and store discounts behind.
For every step forward, it seemed like a step back, sideways or stumble.
Long hours spent in the studio, trying to hammer out the "next big thing."
Concerned friends and family, trying to convince me that I'd made a mistake, and should go back to my job.
Three part-time jobs on the side just to keep this boat afloat.
Missed Birthday parties. Cancelled day trips to the mountains.
Botched classes. Half-finished products.
And a client list so small I had their information
stored on my phone as a contact.
And when I finally did get traction:
I realized that I had built the wrong business.
Burning myself out with 1-on-1 private classes, which, on paper, gave me the right to call myself a “self-sustaining” artist...
When in reality, I knew that I was simply building another people-pleasing “job” for myself. I put everyone else’s happiness & big dreams ahead of my own.
So I made a choice.
I discovered that building my own dream business was NOT at odds with
helping others achieve theirs.
By doing only what I loved, I could help others learn to do it too, and it would feel effortless. I learned:
1. How to grow my customer base from a small trickle of one hit wonders to a sea of loyal tribe members.
2. How to increase profits while decreasing expenses and using up old inventory of craft supplies.
3. How to build time-leveraged classes that allowed me to scale my impact without burning out.
And best of all…
I’ve had the honour of helping hundreds of budding artists like you
side-step years of struggle and build amazing creative businesses of their own.

Who is CuteCraftyGirl?
That’s me, Brandi Penrose! My original Business was LoveWhimsy, and eventually it had to morph and evolve… so CuteCraftyGirl was born!
The Art is still funky, and now ALL of the classes are mobile! I used to teach out of my home studio just north of Calgary, AB. With the passing of my pets, and the realization I was becoming a borderline hoarder, I downsized and traded it all in to be a wandering Gypsy. I love it! Everything I own (mostly glass supplies) fits in a 10′ x 10′ storage unit, and my Prius C.
Honest, Authentic and I live to have FUN! Life is too short to do things you don’t want to do, so I don’t! I quit my job to live my passion, and I love spreading JOY wherever I go!
You'll hear me say Yes to things that make me happy and NO to things that suck my energy, or are not in alignment with my goals and dreams.
Keeping it simple, and living the dream
